Of the 33 restaurants inspected by Columbia County health department officials in March, nearly 80% received perfect scores.

The county public health department inspects facilities that serve food on a semiannual, unannounced basis to look for compliance with health codes in three categories:

• Priority items: which have direct links to preventing foodborne illness and are a priority to adhere to, such as throwing out moldy food.
• Priority foundation items: which require management to perform specific actions or have certain equipment and procedures to prevent potential health risks, such as proper labeling and record keeping.
• Core items: which are usually related to general sanitation and maintenance.

The following restaurants and food services received perfect scores of 100 during their inspections:

• Cornerstone Cafe: located at 102 E. A St. in Rainier
• Buckshot Betty’s: located at 733 Bridge St. in Vernonia
• Dozo Sushi & Asian Food: located at 2225 Gable Road in St. Helens
• Scappoose Bagel: located at 52039 Columbia River Highway in Scappoose
• Ichabod’s: located at 52049 S. Columbia River Highway in Scappoose
• Pizza Vendor: located at 33705 N.E. Columbia Ave. in Scappoose
• The Columbia Theatre: located at 212 S. First St. in St. Helens
• The Lodge Carts: located at 51875 S.W. Old Portland Road in Scappoose
• Indian Tadka House: located at 51895 S.W. Old Portland Road in Scappoose
• Bertucci’s: located at 2017 Columbia Blvd. in St. Helens
• The Pour House: located at 2098 Old Portland Road in St. Helens
• Rainier Senior Center: located at 48 W. Seventh St. in Rainier
• Blue House Cafe: located at 919 Bridge St. in Vernonia
• Open Wide Deli: located at 953 Bridge St. in Vernonia
• Hallows Pizza: located at 305 S. Columbia River Highway in St. Helens
• Patriot Burger: located at 175 Bowling Alley Lane St. Helens
• Sunshine Pizza Exchange: located at 2124 Columbia Blvd. in St. Helens
• Hacienda Las Juanitas Mexican Food: located at 555 S Columbia Blvd. in St. Helens
• Sushiro Ramen Cafe: located at 33608 E. Columbia Ave. in Scappoose
• Wigwam Tavern: located at 52499 Columbia River Highway in Scappoose
• Fork’d: located at 52395 Columbia River Highway in Scappoose
• Dutch Bros: located at 2275 Columbia Blvd. in St. Helens
• Domino’s Pizza: located at 2012 Columbia Blvd. in St. Helens
• Dairy Queen: located at 33500 S.W. Chinook Plaza in Scappoose
• Mod Pizza: located at 2298 Gable Road, Suite 110, in St. Helens

These restaurants received scores of less than 100:

Camilla’s Breakfast Cafe: located at 736 Bridge St. in Vernonia

• Score: 95
• Violation: Priority violation for not adding chlorine to the sanitizing solution. Chlorine was added to the solution during the inspection.

Don Pedros: located at 228 W. B St. in Rainier

• Score: 95
• Violation: Priority violation for cross-contaminating a container of cut bell peppers by placing a container of raw meat on top of it. The bell peppers were discarded during the inspection.

Mister Goose: located at 58499 Columbia River Highway in St. Helens

• Score: 95
• Violation: Priority violation for improper cooling of a container of tomato soup before placing it in the refrigerator. Employees corrected the issue by dividing the soup into smaller containers so it could be cooled properly before returning it to the refrigerator.

Scappoose Cinema 7: located at 33520 Edward Lane in Scappoose

• Score: 95
• Violation: Priority violation for not having any sanitation solution to use for disinfection. A solution was made during the inspection.

Simm Oriental Cuisine: located at 33466 Havlik Drive in Scappoose

• Score: 97
• Violation: Priority foundation violation for having an empty container of ground, fresh chili paste in handwashing sink, rendering the sink inaccessible for handwashing. The container was removed during the inspections.

Turkish Agah: located at 51875 S.W. Old Portland Road in Scappoose

• Score: 95
• Violation: Priority violation for not having a chlorine sanitation bucket available. A new solution was made during the inspection.

Victorico’s: located at 155 N. Columbia River Highway in St. Helens

• Score: 95
• Violation: Priority violation for allowing cooked hamburger to reach room temperature during cooling. The meat was placed in the refrigerator during the inspection.
